The project “Talking walls” is research on absurd in visual culture, its meaning, influence, and principles.
It consists of two parts: theoretical (“Absurd”) and practical (“Talking walls”). My task here was to prepare the project for publication and print.
While the theoretical part contains more general information about the use of absurd in culture, the practical part includes experiments with visual materials in the context of public space (namely: airport). Since this context was one of the main conditions of the practical part of the research, I made sure to emphasize it in my layout design.
Tasks:
• Arrange the textual and visual materials of the research into a structured system.
• Make design choices appropriate to the project (format, layout, font-faces).
• Diversify the layout design with creative spreads using the project’s features as a basis.
• Prepare the books for printing.
