Book about the functions of muscles. Face and leg muscles spreads.
"Muscles" is a book about the functions of the upper layer muscles of the human body.
The idea for this book was born when I was working on a series of robot-characters. I needed to design humanoid robot characters, and I needed their anatomy to have the logic of movement that closely resembled that of humans. So I studied the way the upper layer of muscles on the human body works. In the process of studying, I produced lots of visual materials. Later I decided to gather them into a small book.
Showing the way muscles work was the primary purpose of these pictures. So I chose to drop words altogether and make the whole book solely visual. I designed an explanatory icon for each type of movement.
Later, based on the aesthetics of the images and the icons, I created a lettering composition for the cover.
Tasks:
• Draw anatomically correct illustrations for the muscles.
• Create a set of icons for every type of movement that the illustrated muscles can do.
• Make layout design for the book.
